DIFFERENT ASSESSMENT METHODS TO USE IN ANY CLASS INCLUDE

q  quizzes (including calculations and/or essay questions)
q  minute papers (e.g., on what students have learned in a particular session, or what they found to be most confusing)
q  essay questions/journal entries (explaining their understanding of concepts and principles)
q  projects/reports (individual or group)
q  portfolios
q  exams (covering a broad range of material)
q  written reports (of in-class activities or computer labs)
q  open-ended questions or problems to solve
q  enhanced multiple-choice questions where responses are designed to characterize students' reasoning
