Differentiate between Transport Protocol and Internet Protocol

As with any form of communication, two things are needed: a message and the means to reliably send the message to send. The TP layer provides the message part. The message is broken down into smaller units, called packets, which are then transmitted over the network. The packet is received by the TP layer corresponds to the receiver and back in the original message. TP provide application-to-application communication. TP need extended addressing mechanisms to identify applications. TP - is responsible for verifying the correct delivery of data from client to server. Data can be lost in the intermediate network. TP adds support to detect errors or lost data and transmission lead to the data is correctly and completely received. TP are called end-to-end communication.

The IP layer is in the first place concerned with the transmission components. This is done by means of a unique IP address assigned to each receiver and each active network. IP- provides computer-to-computer communication. IP- source and destination addresses are computers. IP - responsible for moving packets of data from node to node. IP sends each packet based on a four byte destination address (the IP number). The Internet authorities assign number ranges to different organizations. The organizations assign groups of their numbers to departments. IP gateway works on machines that data service organization to region and worldwide. IP is also called machine-to-machine communication.
