Stratification refers to a system of inequality, society is
stratified. There are five principles :
(1) It is social, not natural
(2) It‘s persistent, even as societies change.
(3) It is omnipresent in nearly all social settings,
even in socialist systems.
(4) It is supported by ideology.
(5) It is micro – as well as a macro –level.
